13 Creating Expressions Editing an Expression via the Expression Browser Predefined expressions include parameters you can modify. When you select a predefined expression, the parameter options displayed are the parameters available for the selected channel(s) and the parameters applicable to the parameter input source. Note: The Expression Browser is context-sensitive. Parameter input source Parameter values To change an expression's parameters and its values: 1. Do one of the following: • In the Timeline, right-click the channel to which you added an expression and choose Exp. Browser. • In the Timeline, select the channel to which you added an expression and click the Exp. Browser button. 2. In the Expression Browser, do one of the following: • Choose a parameter input source. • Scrub or click the parameter value fields. The expression's picon updates dynamically. • Click Reset to reset the expression's parameter options to default. Editing an Expression via the Multiline Editor The Multi-line Editor enables you to edit simple to complex expression scripts. To view an expression script: 1. In the Timeline, click Overview. 2. Select the channel to which you added an expression. To access the Multi-line Editor: Do one of the following: • In the Timeline, right-click the channel to which you added an expression and choose Edit Expression. Note: The Timeline can be either in Graph mode or Overview mode. • In the Timeline Overview mode, right-click the expression script and choose Edit expression. • In the Timeline Overview mode, select and click the expression script. The Multi-line Editor is displayed and the expression script is selected. If an expression script is no longer than one line, the Multi-line Editor is displayed as follows, with the expression script selected. 318
