Creating Capsules ❚❘❘ A new controller appears in the Controls tree. This controller is not yet configured or linked to any channels. 3. To rename the controller, select it in the Controls tree, then click it again. Type a new name, and press ENTER. The controller is added as a channel for the capsule operator, and in the Basic controls of the capsule. This is where all the capsule controllers are accessible to users of the capsule. To add controllers from existing channels: 1. In the Capsule Controls panel, click Controllers. 2. In the ChannelPick panel, locate the operator channel that you want to use to create the new controller. 3. Select the channel. CTRL-click to select multiple channels. Note: If you select multiple channels, a separate controller will be created for each. 4. Click Clone & Link. A new controller appears in the Controls tree. It is also added as a channel for the capsule operator, and in the Basic controls of the capsule. It is automatically linked to the channel and its parameters are set to correspond to those of the originating channel. In the ChannelPick panel, an icon appears next to the cloned channel to indicate it has been linked. In the image above, a controller called "Gain" was created. It can be used, for example, to simultaneously set the red, green, and blue gain channels for an Add Grain operator. Add Controllers from Existing Channels To quickly add new controllers, you can duplicate, or clone, the parameters from a channel and link it to a controller in the capsule. You can reconfigure the channel parameters or link additional channels to the controller at any time. The Red Gain channel has been linked to the Gain capsule controller. By default the name of the controller is the same as the cloned channel. 5. To rename the controller, select it in the Controls tree, then click it again. Type a new name, and press ENTER. 839
