Link (/) creates an absolute path to the selected channel, and Link (..) creates a relative path to the selected channel. Adding Expressions ❚❘❘ Expression Browser An expression is added to the selected channel linking its value to the target channel-the second channel selected. Note: You can also select multiple channels. • Select a channel in the Timeline, click the Exp. Browser button; in the Expression browser dialog, click an expression picon in the left pane, and click OK. The selected predefined expression is added to the selected channel. • Select a channel in the Timeline, click the Exp. Browser button, and in the Expression browser dialog, click OK. An expression is added to the channel based on the channel's value. The expression value is the value of the selected channel. For example, if the value of Z Position is set to 230.00, the expression value is 230.000000. When you add an expression without selecting one of the expression picons in the Expression Browser dialog, the value of the expression-the animation-remains constant throughout the clip. To change the animation, you need to change the parameters of the predefined expression script. Adding an Expression to an Animated Channel When you add an expression to an animated channel, the keyframes are replaced by the expression and the channel is animated based on the expression's script. Note: You cannot have an expression and keyframes on the same channel. The procedure for adding an expression to an animated channel is the same as the procedure for adding an expression to a non-animated channel. See Adding an Expression to a Channel. To add an expression using the Expression Browser, see Adding a Predefined Expression. To revert to the keyframes, delete the expression. See To delete an expression:. To switch back and forth between keyframes and the expression, click the expression icon in the Timeline. Note: Clicking the expression icon disables the expression, it does not remove it. Therefore, you cannot modify the keyframes unless you remove the expression. 313

Link (/) creates an absolute path to the selected

channel, and Link (..) creates a relative path to the

selected channel.

An expression is added to the selected channel

linking its value to the target channel—the

second channel selected.

Note:

You can also select multiple channels.

Select a channel in the Timeline, click the Exp.

Browser button; in the Expression browser

dialog, click an expression picon in the left pane,

and click OK.

The selected predefined expression is added to

the selected channel.

An expression is added to the channel based on

the channel’s value.

The expression value is the value of the selected

channel. For example, if the value of Z Position is

set to 230.00, the expression value is 230.000000.

When you add an expression without selecting

clip. To change the animation, you need to change
