Backburner Server ❚❘❘ Note: When multiple Managers are running on the same network, you may want to turn off Automatic Search and specify which Manager the Server should connect to. Otherwise, the Server connects to the first Manager it finds. To help the server find the Manager, see Connecting to the Manager. Description-Enter a description of the server workstation. This information appears under the Description column in the Server Information pane in the Backburner Queue Monitor. Log Settings-Displays the Backburner Server Logging Properties dialog. Use the Log Settings options to filter the information that is displayed during a network rendering session. There are two sets of log settings: one for the information logged to the Server window (Log To Screen) and one for the log file (Log To File). Each can be either enabled or disabled. For example, you may want to show more detailed information in the Server window and keep basic information in the log file. For a detailed description of log type messages, see Backburner Server Window. Note: The Log Setting options for the Backburner Server are the same as the Log Setting options for the Backburner Manager. Log To Screen Group The Log To Screen options determine which message types are displayed in the Server window. Enable the message type you want to be displayed. Buffer Limit-Specifies the maximum size of the buffer holding the messages. Clear Log-Clears the buffer holding the messages in the Server window. Log To File Group The Log To File options determine which message types are saved in a log file. These are the same messages that are displayed in the Server window. Enable the message type you want to be saved to a log file. When messages are enabled, a backburnerServer.log file is created. This file is located in the Autodesk\Backburner\Network folder. The information logged in the file depends on the Log Settings in the Server Logging Properties. Note: The Network folder is created once network rendering is started. Clear Log File-Deletes the associated backburnerServer.log file. Warning: Log files are cleared only when you click the Clear Log File button. When categories are enabled in either or both log files, the files will continue to grow in size each time you render. View Menu The View menu gives you access to the Status Bar, the Font Size, and the Autoscrollbar List options. Status Bar-Toggles the display of the status bar shown at the lower left of the Server window. The status bar is displayed by default. Font Size-Sets the display font size for the text that appears in the Server (list) window. Autoscroll List-Toggles automatic scrolling of the information in the Server window. When enabled, new items in the list cause previous contents to scroll up. When disabled, if the list is long, you must scroll the list manually to see all the entries in the list. This option is enabled by default. Help Menu Use the Help menu to access information on the Backburner Server application. 809

Note:

Description

—Enter a description of the server

Log Settings

—Displays the

Backburner

Server

Logging Properties dialog. Use the Log Settings

options to filter the information that is displayed

during a network rendering session. There are two

sets of log settings: one for the information logged to

the Server window (Log To Screen) and one for the

log file (Log To File). Each can be either enabled or

disabled. For example, you may want to show more

detailed information in the Server window and keep

basic information in the log file.

Note:

The Log Setting options for the

Backburner

Server are the same as the Log Setting options for

Backburner

Log To Screen Group

The Log To Screen options determine which
