B Combustion and 3ds Max 3. Select the Combustion operator you want to use from the Select Operator to Render dialog. The Paint operator is used as an example in the following illustration. To display an unwrapped mesh: 1. Create a Combustion map. 2. In the 3ds Max Material Editor, enable Unwrap in the Live Edit group. Unwrap button In Combustion, a mesh appears. This is an "unwrapped" projection of the 3D object. Paint operator 4. Click OK. 5. To view the results of the Combustion operator on the 3ds Max object, return to 3ds Max. Working in 3ds Max One way to work with Combustion and 3ds Max is to use a workspace as a material map, a displacement map, or an environment map. The basic procedures for these are described in this section. Displaying an Unwrapped Mesh of the 3D Object In the 3ds Max Material Editor, use the Unwrap Mesh feature to display your 3D object as a 2D mesh in Combustion. You can adjust the color and size of the mesh. The mesh display is only an overlay to help you orient paint strokes and other Combustion effects.
