16 Introduction to Paint Position Field Enter X and Y values in these fields to select the starting position for the clone source. You can also click the Set Position button then click in the starting position in the image. If you are using another layer as the clone source, when you click the Set Position button, the layer appears in the viewport. Click the starting location on the clone source to return to the other layer. Note: You can also hold down ALT to quickly set the clone source in the viewport. Edges List Select an option from this list to indicate how Combustion treats the clone operation when it needs to go past the edge of an offset clone source. Edge Mode options include the following. Transparent-The clone source is treated as transparent if you draw past the edge of the source. Repeat-The clone source repeats (like tiles) if you draw past the edge of the source. Mirror-The clone source is mirrored if you draw past the edge of the source. Continuous-The pixels at the edge of the clone source are repeated. AA Button Enable the AA button to turn on sub-pixel positioning of the clone source. When this option is disabled, the clone source always snaps to the position of the source to the nearest whole pixel. Enable this option when you are animating the clone source position. By default, this option is enabled. Transform Controls Use the Transform controls in the Paint Controls panel to make changes to object transform properties. For more information on these controls, see "Editing Object Transform Properties" in Chapter 17, "Paint: Drawing Basics''. Brush Controls The Brush controls display the current brush set. You can click a brush to select it and to access its controls, or click and drag to move the brush to a new position on the panel. The right-arrow menu button ( ) in the upper right corner opens the Brushes palette menu. Use this menu to add a new brush to the current set, delete a brush from the current set, edit a brush, create a brush set, and choose a brush set. Position Field

Enter X and Y values in these fields to select the

starting position for the clone source.

You can also click the Set Position button

then click in the starting position in the image.

If you are using another layer as the clone source,

when you click the Set Position button, the layer

appears in the viewport. Click the starting location

on the clone source to return to the other layer.

Edges List

Select an option from this list to indicate how

treats the clone operation when it needs

to go past the edge of an offset clone source. Edge

Mode options include the following.

Transparent

—The clone source is treated as

AA Button
