2 Welcome to Combustion Setting Grids and Guides Preferences Grid, guides, and rulers allow for precise positioning of elements in your workspace. You can customize the appearance, spacing, and snap properties of the grid and guides, and choose the default position of the ruler. To set grid preferences: 1. In the Host category, click Grids & Guides. The Grid and Guides options appear. 3. Set the following options as required. Use Color Style Spacing Subdivisions To Set the color of the lines that appear in the viewports. Click the color box and then choose a color from the Pick Color dialog. See Using the Pick Color Dialog. Set the type of lines used. You can choose Lines, Dashed Lines, or Dots. Set the size of each grid segment, in pixels. Define the number of subdividing lines each grid segment will contain. Subdivision set 2 x 2 Subdivision set to 10 x 2 2. In the Grid preferences, to synchronize the settings for both the vertical and horizontal grid lines, enable Linked. If this option is disabled, you can customize the vertical and horizontal lines independently. 4. In the Snap Tolerance field, enter the tolerance threshold. Any object placed within this threshold will snap to the grid. The snap tolerance is a percentage of the entire grid segment. 5. Click OK. 52
