Monitoring Network Jobs ❚❘❘ 3. On your workstation, in the Backburner Queue Monitor, choose Manager | Connect. 4. In the Connect To Manager dialog, enter the Manager name or IP address. Suspending and Activating Jobs As your rendering priorities change, you can suspend an active (busy) or pending job in the job queue, or restart jobs that are active or inactive. When you suspend a job, the servers assigned to the job either drop the frame they are rendering or finish writing the frame, depending on where they are in the rendering process. The next pending job becomes active and begins to render. You can reactivate a suspended job, or activate a job that was submitted as Suspended from the Render Queue. To suspend jobs: 1. Do one of the following: • Select a job in the job queue. • CTRL-click multiple jobs in the job queue. The Suspend Job button in the toolbar is activated. To activate suspended jobs: 1. Do one of the following: • Select a suspended job in the Job queue. • CTRL-click multiple suspended jobs in the Job queue. The Activate Job button in the toolbar is activated. 2. Do one of the following: • Click the Activate Job button in the toolbar. • Right-click the suspended job in the Job queue and choose Activate. • In the Jobs menu, choose Jobs | Activate (CTRL+A). After a few moments, the job status updates. The job is started or made active in the queue, depending on whether or not another job is currently rendering and whether or not any of the job's frames have already rendered. 3. If necessary, click the Refresh button to view the new queue status. 2. Do one of the following: • Click the Suspend Job button in the toolbar. • Right-click the job in the Job queue and choose Suspend. • In the Jobs menu, choose Jobs | Suspend (CTRL+S). After a few moments, the job status updates. 3. If necessary, click the Refresh button to view the new queue status. Changing Job Priority You can change the order of jobs in the job queue to meet changing deadlines or rendering priorities. By default, jobs are given a priority of 50. A priority is numbered from 1 to 100-the lower the number, the higher the job priority. A job can also be set to critical, interrupting all other jobs in progress. To reorder a job in the Job queue: 1. Select the job in the Job queue. 827

Monitor, choose Manager | Connect.

In the Connect To Manager dialog, enter the

Manager name or IP address.

Suspending and Activating Jobs

As your rendering priorities change, you can

suspend an active (busy) or pending job in the job

queue, or restart jobs that are active or inactive.

When you suspend a job, the servers assigned to the

job either drop the frame they are rendering or finish

writing the frame, depending on where they are in

the rendering process. The next pending job

becomes active and begins to render.

You can reactivate a suspended job, or activate a job

that was submitted as Suspended from the Render

Queue.

To suspend jobs:
