Modifying Mask Color ❚❘❘ Note: The mask Color field is not available in Paint. Adjusting the color of a mask affects the overall mask color. The range according to which you set the Color value depends on the bit depth of the footage to which the mask operator is added. For example, with an 8-bit per channel image, a value of 255 means the mask is white, a color of 127 means the mask is gray, and a color of 0 means the mask is black. When masks with different color values overlap, the mask at the top of the stacking order has priority in the intersecting portion of the masks. Note: When masks with different opacity values overlap, the stacking order of the masks has no effect on the intersecting portion of the masks. In the following example, the elliptical mask is on top of the rectangular mask in the composite. Although the masks intersect, the value of the elliptical mask (50%) has priority in the intersecting portion of the masks. Alpha View Mode Rectangular mask set to 178 (+/- 70%) color Elliptical mask set to 127 (+/- 50%) color through the elliptical mask than the rectangular mask. The color value of the rectangular mask is 178, so it is more opaque than the elliptical mask. Note: Use the mask Color option (in combination with Opacity) when you are creating a mask setup to transfer to an Autodesk SGI-based system (for example, Flame), and you have multiple overlapping masks in the operator. If you use the mask mode settings (and Global Apply Modes), the settings do not apply when imported into the SGI-based system. For more information, see Using Mask Setup Files. Mask Transparency and Color You can combine different color and opacity values with overlapping masks. The following example shows an elliptical mask on top of a rectangular mask in a composite with different opacity and color values. In the first example, an elliptical mask with an Opacity of 50% is on top of a rectangular mask with an Opacity of 100%. Since the stacking order of overlapping masks with different opacity values has no effect on the intersecting portion of the masks, the elliptical mask has no effect on the composite. Note:

The mask Color field is not available in Paint.

Adjusting the color of a mask affects the overall

mask color. The range according to which you set the

Color value depends on the bit depth of the footage

Note:

In the following example, the elliptical mask is on

Since the elliptical mask is on top and has a color

value of 127, more of the underlying layer is seen

through the elliptical mask than the rectangular

mask. The color value of the rectangular mask is 178,

Note:
