2 Welcome to Combustion By default, these icons always appear in the viewport. During playback, the wireframes will follow any object animation. However, as this may have an impact on performance, you may want to hide wireframe icons during playback. Note: You can set your preferences to hide wireframes automatically during playback. For information, see Setting Behavior Preferences. To show or hide wireframe icons: Choose Window | Show Wireframe Icons, or press CTRL+SHIFT+H. Note: This option is also available in the viewport context menu. Changing Display Quality You can control the amount of detail and image quality displayed in the viewports. The higher the image quality setting, the more time is required to update the viewports. To change the display quality: Select an option from the Display Quality list. Display Quality list The following options are available. Select Preview Best Medium Draft To View clips at full resolution. View clips at full resolution. This is the only mode that considers the Anti-aliasing and Supersampling options for a 3D composite. View clips at half resolution, or the resolution of any footage with a defined proxy. For information on proxies, see "Creating Proxy Footage" in Chapter 4, "Building Workspaces''. View clips at a quarter resolution, or half the resolution of any footage with a defined proxy. For information on proxies, see "Creating Proxy Footage" in Chapter 4, "Building Workspaces''. For 3D composites, there are also two display options in the Settings controls for anti-aliasing and supersampling. These options are set for rendering, by default. However, you can choose to override the display settings at any time. For more information, see Chapter 31, "Rendering''. To set the display options for 3D composites: 1. Select the 3D composite operator in the Workspace panel. 2. Select Settings in the Composite Controls panel to access the Settings controls. 3. Enable the required Quality options. The following table describes the options. Enable Anti-Aliasing Supersampling To Smooth the edges of diagonal lines, reducing the jaggies. You can use this with the Best option only. Enable anti-aliasing for shadows and reflections. You can use this with the Best option only. These options are only valid if you select Best mode. The Preview, Medium, and Draft mode ignores the anti-aliasing and supersampling options. Note: Quality options are not available for other operators. These operators are always output with anti-aliasing enabled. 24

Welcome to Combustion

By default, these icons always appear in the

viewport. During playback, the wireframes will

follow any object animation. However, as this may

have an impact on performance, you may want to

hide wireframe icons during playback.

Note:

You can set your preferences to hide

Changing Display Quality

You can control the amount of detail and image

quality displayed in the viewports. The higher the

image quality setting, the more time is required to

update the viewports.

To change the display quality:

Select an option from the Display Quality list.

The following options are available.

For 3D composites, there are also two display

options in the Settings controls for anti-aliasing and

supersampling.

These options are set for rendering, by default.

However, you can choose to override the display

settings at any time. For more information, see

Chapter 31, “Rendering’’

To set the display options for 3D composites:

Select the 3D composite operator in the

Workspace panel.

Select Settings in the Composite Controls panel

to access the Settings controls.

Enable the required Quality options.
