Color Warper Interface ❚❘❘ Plot sample Reference sample You can use Plot to get more information on colors you want to change. When you are adjusting colors and levels and are not sure which controls to use, click Plot and select a color in the image. You can then view the histogram or vectorscope to determine which control you should use. For example, if the plotted color appears in the middle of the 2D luma histogram, you can modify the color in the image using the Midtones trackball while viewing the plotted color in the 2D vectorscope. To sample clips: 1. Display the clip you want to modify (the result clip) and the clip you want to match to (the reference clip) in two viewports. 2. Do one or both of the following: • Select the result clip viewport, then enable Plot and sample the result clip. You can Click-drag CTRL-drag To Sample a single pixel in the image. You can drag through the image until you locate the pixel you want to sample. Sample an average taken from a range of colors in the image. A red vertical line appears in the histogram indicating the luma of the sample. The sampled color is also outlined in red in the 2D or 3D vectorscope. In the 2D vectorscope, you see the sample in terms of hue and saturation. In the 3D vectorscope, you see it in terms of HLS. • Select the reference clip viewport, then enable Ref and sample the reference clip. You can Click-drag CTRL-drag To Sample a single pixel in the image. You can drag through the image until you locate the pixel you want to sample. Sample an average taken from a range of colors in the image. A yellow vertical line appears in the histogram and the sampled color is outlined in yellow in the 2D or 3D vectorscope. 663
