Adjusting the Opacity of a Brush Stroke Use the profile graph to control the opacity profile of the brush. Note: The profile graph is not available for the Custom brushes. When adjusting the opacity profile, you can access the following controls. Click To Profile curve Add a control point. Line type button Toggle between linear and Bezier profiles. A Bezier graph creates a profile where the opacity changes more gradually. Vertical flip button Invert the profile vertically. Horizontal flip button Invert the profile horizontally. Remove Control Point button Remove the selected control point. Reset button Remove all control points to create 100% opacity across the entire brush. Line Type Remove Control Point Vertical Flip Horizontal Flip Moving the Brush Handle When you draw in the (active) viewport, the cursor drags the brush handle. By default, the cursor corresponds to the center of the brush. Use the Handle button to move the brush handle. You can position the handle anywhere, even outside the brush. To move the handle back to the center of the brush, click the Center button. Brush handle Creating a Brush You can create brushes and save them in the Brush controls. You can also copy and paste brushes. To create a brush: 1. Do one of the following: • Click an empty space in the Brushes palette. • In the Brushes palette, select a brush, click the Brushes menu button ( ) and choose New Brush. 429
