15 Editing Clips 3. If you selected to add a wipe transition, choose the wipe direction from the list that appears. Choose To Left Move the edge of the wipe from the right to the left. Right Move the edge of the wipe from the left to the right. Up Move the edge of the wipe from the bottom to the top. Down Move the edge of the wipe from the top to the bottom. 4. Choose where to place the transition from the Position field. Choose To Start Align the start of the transition with the cut point. Middle Align the center of the transition with the cut point. End Align the end of the transition with the cut point. Custom Create an asymmetric transition. Once you insert the transition, click and drag the transition in the Edit timeline to the required location. 5. In the Length field, enter the duration of the dissolve. Note: You must have enough tail frames on the outgoing clip and head frames on the incoming clip to accommodate the transition length. 6. Click Insert. If you selected to add a dissolve transition, a dissolve appears in the Edit timeline, indicating the duration of the transition. If you selected to add a wipe transition, a wipe appears in the Edit timeline, indicating the direction and duration of the transition. Wipe with a duration of five frames.
